Arrival by public transport

From Vienna international airport

Bus. Direct buses operated by Student Agency Ltd depart at 8:05, 11:05, 18:05 and 20:30. The bus station is just in front of the arrival hall. The buses have yellow colour. Tickets are sold by the driver and a one-way ticket costs approximately 16 EUR. The travelling time is about 2:40.

Train. There is no direct connection from the Vienna airport, however, generally the connection is not too bad. Trains to Brno depart more or less each hour. For details see the Deutche Bahn web site http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml.

As the departure place fill ‘Flughafen Wien’, as destination ‘Brno hl.n.’. The travelling time is about 2:30 to 3:30. A one-way ticket costs about 25 EUR and it can be bought in the train as there is no cash desk at the airport.


From Prague international airport

Bus. Direct buses operated by Student Agency Ltd depart at 9:35, 13:35, 15:35 and 17:35. The bus station is just in front of Terminal 1. The buses have yellow colour. Tickets are sold in Student Agency Ltd office at the arrival hall of Terminal 1. The travelling time is approximately 4:00. Usually, there is a break at Prague bus station Florence for 45–75 minutes with change of the coach.

Combined way. Take the local city bus No. 119 (stations in front of Terminals 1 and 2, tickets for 26 CZK) to the end station ‘Dejvicka’. Then take the metro line A (green) to station ‘Museum’, there change the line to C (red) and continue to station ‘Florenc’ (direction to end station ‘Letnany’) where the main bus station is situated. For the metro, use the same ticket without marking. The complete journey should take 50 to 70 minutes.

Direct trains to Brno depart from stations ‘Hlavni nadrazi’ and ‘Nadrazi Holesovice’ (both are stations on metro line C). Direct trains depart at least each hour, for the time table and necessity of reservations look on the Deutche Bahn web site http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml.

As departure place fill ‘Praha’, as destination ‘Brno hl.n.’. The travelling time is about 2:30 to 3:10. A one-way ticket costs about 300 CZK and it can be bought in the train. However, it is preferable to buy it at the cash desk.

Access to station ‘Nadrazi Holesovice’ is possible also by direct bus from the airport marked ‘AE line’. There is a special tariff of about 40 CZK.

The same metro line stop ‘Florenc’ is the Prague bus terminal. Direct buses to Brno depart at least each hour, usually even more frequently and at some times several buses, operated by different companies, are available. The travelling time is about 2:30 to 3:00. A one-way ticket costs about 200 CZK and it is sold by the driver.


From Brno international airport

The are a few flights daily from Prague to Brno and there is one afternoon direct flight from London Stansted airport (Ryanair).

From the Brno airport, take local city bus No. 76 to reach the city centre. The end station of this bus is at the main railway station. Buses depart every 30 minutes and the ticket costs about 20 CZK. They can be bought from the driver. The travelling time is about 30 minutes.


From Brno to Blansko

The shuttle bus from Brno city will be organized at Sunday late afternoon at about 17:30 depending on the arrival of participants to Brno. Please, inform LOC of your expected arrival times.
