About

The 8th Workshop on Frontiers in Low Temperature Plasma Diagnostics is organized by Czech Union of Mathematicians and Physicists, Brno University of Technology and Masaryk University and will take place at Hotel Panorama in Blansko (***, Czech Republic) from Sunday 19th April to Thursday 23rd April, 2009. Conference place is located in Moravian Carst, a region with many caves and other interesting places which are in walking distance. This workshop is the continuation of a biennial series which began at Les Houches (France) in 1995. It aims to bring together experts in the field of low temperature plasma diagnostics and to create a possibility to share knowledge of these diagnostics with the new generation of scientists.

The workshop is limited to approximately 70 participants from academic, research and industrial institutions. Following seven previous meetings, the program consists of expert presentations from about 10 invited speakers, topical talks selected by the International Scientific Committee from submitted abstracts, and poster contributions. As a rule, participants are expected to present a contribution. To facilitate the participation of young plasma physicists, the registration fee is kept as low as possible, particularly for PhD students.

The scientific program will start on Monday morning and will finish on Thursday at noon. The workshop and poster sessions will take place in the morning and late-afternoon/evening, following the tradition of FLTPD meetings, all afternoons will be free. Details of the program will be given in the 2nd announcement and reported at this website.
